AI is Getting Smarter… and More Human Than I Expected

Over the last few months, I’ve been diving deep into AI, not just how it works, but how it’s starting to shape the way we work, think, and connect.

The Economic Impact of AI

The economic impact alone is hard to ignore.
According to a PwC report, AI could add $15.7 trillion to the global economy by 2030.
IDC data puts the estimate even higher --> around $19.9 trillion.
That’s more than the GDP of China and India combined.

AI and Emotional Intelligence

But here’s the part that really surprised me:
A recent study from the Universities of Geneva and Bern found that AI models like ChatGPT-4 scored 82% on emotional intelligence tests.
Humans averaged 56%.

I honestly had to read that twice.
Emotional intelligence has always been one of those “uniquely human” traits. Yet here we are with AI reading tone, spotting emotion, and sometimes even offering more empathetic responses than people.

My Take on This Shift

For me, this changes the conversation.
AI isn’t just about replacing repetitive tasks anymore. It’s about amplifying what we do well and, sometimes, even holding up a mirror to how we communicate.

Here’s what I believe:

  • The people who win in this AI era won’t just know what AI can do. They’ll know how to work with it.

  • We can’t let AI replace our thinking. It’s powerful, but it’s not responsible for the decisions we make with it.

  • If we use it right, AI can give us back time, creativity, and space to focus on the things that really matter.

Final Thoughts

AI is no longer just a tool. It’s becoming a partner in how we work and connect. The question is not whether AI will change our lives, but whether we’ll be ready to adapt, learn, and use it wisely.
